Only a few days to go
With all the preparation and with everything else that has been happening, I have been remiss in not providing some more updates on our preparation and progress for trek4kidz 2016.
Over the last months, in between work and other commitments for both Sue and I, we have been prepping the zed, sorting sponsorships, signage, mechanical checks and more, while still managing to do the normal business and family life. Never dull, that’s for sure.
In all of this, we have been very fortunate to have some great support from our prime sponsors, House of Tickets, a fantastic supplier of industry consumables printers and more, CDN, TicketServ's new hosting partner providing a high level of service and commitment to support our business in a true partnership manner, Australian Leisure Magazine, the place to go for industry news and information and Dignam Real Estate at Thirroul, a returning sponsor and a great place to go for pretty much any sort of property assistance, whether selling, purchasing or rental. Thanks to you all for seeing Starlight as a great organisation to support.
We have also been fortunate to have various donations made to your entry and both Sue and I thank you for that generous support.
As well as these generous sponsors and donations, we have been extremely fortunate to have great support from Optic Signs at Chipping Norton with the car signage and Con Vasiliou at Northern Automotive at Woonona for the mechanical checks and service on the Zed.
If you need any sign work or mechanical services, let me know and I can provide contact details. Highly recommend them both.
We are now getting very close to "go" and will head off this Friday to Griffith for the start of the event. After the 6 or so hour drive Friday, Saturday will see the event check in, scrutineering, and then the welcome dinner Saturday evening with Sunday morning start.
Day 1 is some 450 plus kms, no fuel stops and some pretty "interesting" roads apparently. So Sue and I are looking forward to it.
You will be able to follow us on the website www.car240.com.au and the Live Follow Us page where, all things being equal, it will show a GPS track of the progress over the event.
The aim is to post some photos, perhaps a video or two and some updates as time and location allows, so keep a look out for updates.
So, bring on Trek4Kidz2016 and see you at the other end!
